Meeting Minutes – 7-28-2016
AGHA BOARD MINUTES – 7-28-2016
July 28th, 2016 12 PM Central time.
Roll Call – A Quorum was present.
The following were present:

Region 4 Director Heather Nesler

Approval of Minutes
The May Minutes were submitted to board members prior to the meeting. There
were no corrections. Sect./Treas. Kim Consol made a motion to approve the
Minutes. Region 3 Director Deborah Niemann-Boehle seconded the motion. All
were in favor.
Treasurer’s Reports
The May and June Treasurer’s Reports were submitted to board members prior
to the meeting. The President declared the May and June Treasurer’s Reports to
go on record.
Membership letter from registrar
The board discussed the Registrar’s letter, which is sent to new members.
Region 5 Director position
The board discussed the Region 5 position, vacated by Rico Silvera. Two members
had been nominated for this position, by email.
Member at Large
The board discussed adding a Member at Large to the board, using one of the
members nominated for Region 5 Director.
Genetic Recovery Proposal
Discussion was held on adding an additional requirement to the Genetic Recovery
Proposal.
Newsletter & MailChimp
The board discussed whether the newsletter should be public or for members
only.
Mother Earth News Fair
Region 3 Director Deborah Niemann-Boehle made a motion that we attend the
September Mother Earth News Fair, and spend up to $500. on lodging and
supplies. Region 2 Director Susan Williamson seconded the motion. All were in
favor. Attendance at this fair will only happen provided that we have sufficient
coverage by members during the event.
Litter Registration form
Inconsistency in the litter forms was discussed. Vice-President Jack Rowland will
look into solutions.
Deceased Hogs
There is a new policy for registrations. Sect./Treas. Kim Consol made a motion
that deceased hogs should have a notation, which would be – D, after their name.
Region 2 Director Susan Williamson seconded. All were in favor.
Name Change Proposal
Sect./Treas. Kim Consol made a motion that there be a policy that hogs that have
not produced offspring may have their name changed only with the permission of
the breeder, and that hogs that have produced registered offspring will not be
allowed to have name changes. This will be in effect now. Region 3 Director
Deborah Niemann-Boehle seconded the motion. All were in favor. The President
declared the motion passed.
President Angela Ingraham made a motion that we have a new litter notification
form on the website to help determine the population of all Guinea Hogs, both
registered and unregistered, we’ll have a simple litter notification form that does
not require the applicant to be a member, for the purpose of getting a feel for the
population of all Guinea Hogs. Litter notification starts Jan. 2017. Sect./Treas.
Kim Consol seconded the motion. All were in favor. The President declared the motion passed.
