AGHA BOARD MINUTES – 1-31-2017

January 31, 2017 9:30 PM Central time.

Meeting called to order 9:30 pm Eastern time

Roll Call- A quorum was present.

Minutes

We will go over the October & November Meeting Minutes at the next meeting.

Treasurer’s Reports

The October & November 2016 Treasurer’s Reports were submitted to board members prior to the meeting. Questions were answered. President Angela Ingraham declared these Treasurer’s Reports to be filed for audit. The 2016 Year End Report will be discussed at the next meeting.

Herd Census Form

President Angela Ingraham will begin sending out herd census forms to members.

February Mother Earth News Fair

Region 5 Director Wendy McDaniel will have an exhibit for AGHA at the Texas MEN Fair. We discussed brochures and Wendy told us her plans for displays at the booth. In the future, if the budget allows, we would like to have stickers, etc. to hand out to visitors.

Calendars

Discussion was held regarding how many were sold last year, profits earned and whether more should be ordered for MENFair.

Application form for Genetic Initiative

The application form is not ready at this time. Discussion was held on possible form design.

Board Sponsorship for MS herd

The board discussed the request to sponsor the MS herd application for inclusion into the registry, under the guidelines of the Genetic Initiative. President Angela Ingraham made a motion to sponsor the MS herd. All voted in favor. Motion
passed.

Update on new fees and forms on website

The new registration form issues have been resolved and the process is now running smoothly. Members need to be notified that they have to do the math on the forms. Litter registration is now $5. per piglet. Hog registration for hogs over 90 days old has been reduced to $10. per hog.

Other Business

Board Member at Large Donna Hertlein pointed out that the old by-laws were still on the website, spelling for AR needs to be corrected, calendar sales link is needed, and the committees should be added to the Board Member page. President Angela Ingraham suggested also adding the newsletter contact. Angela would appreciate any other suggestions or corrections for the website. Treasurer Kim Consol and Angela will discuss the email from the lawyer
regarding the next steps in the non profit status, by email or phone.
Donna suggested that we have a template for brochures, or printed brochures
available for the members.
