Members of the Board were informed that the website has been hacked. This is causing no serious damage, but hundreds of fake member sign ups are clogging the system. The webmaster is looking into a solution.
Hobby Farm Ad
Treasurer Kim Consol mentioned to the board that the amount paid for advertising went over budget in 2016. This was because we added attending the Mother Earth News Fairs, mid year. The Hobby Farm ad is $476.00 per issue. Region 5 Director Wendy McDaniel made a motion to approve ads in two issues of Hobby Farms magazine. Region 3 Director Deborah Niemann-Boehle seconded the motion. None were opposed. Motion passed. Kim was asked to find out the price difference of a color ad, versus the black & white ad that has been published.

The board discussed the 3 year 2014-16 statement, which is required for our nonprofit status. Treasurer Kim Consol made a motion to approve the 2016 Financial Statement. Region 5 Director Wendy McDaniel seconded the motion. None opposed. Motion passed. Other steps being taken in the non-profit status process include the description of what the Association does, which President Angela Ingraham is writing, and possibly finding a donor, which will expedite the process.
Herd Census Update
President Angela Ingraham is sending out herd census forms to members. She
has sent forms to almost half the members and is following up with phone calls if
they do not respond. Getting responses has been difficult, only about 10% have
replied. Possible solutions to enable the completion of the census were discussed.
Update on Herd Recovery paperwork
Discussion was held on paperwork that has been submitted. The process is proceeding without issues. North Carolina Mother Earth News Fair Options were discussed for staffing a booth for AGHA at this fair. President Angela Ingraham will contact members who may be able to represent AGHA, in this region.

Newsletter
The board discussed President Angela Ingraham’s idea of writing a notice to members, for the newsletter, asking whether members would mind having member Susan Neal join the board to assume the Treasurer responsibilities, since Kim Consol has been acting as both Treasurer and Secretary.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:51 P.M Central time.
